What is #GivingTuesday? #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity. And, the best part is, you don’t have to be a world leader or a billionaire to give back! #GivingTuesday is about ordinary people coming together doing extraordinary things.
#GivingTuesday Movement Comes to Long Island! This time of year, there are a lot of people asking you to buy something. We even have two shopping holidays now: Black Friday and Cyber Monday. And, while we like shopping as much as the next person, all of us here at Long Island Crisis Center are doing things a little differently this year, and we want you to join us! It’s called #GivingTuesday, and it’s become a global movement. Well, we’re helping to bring that global movement here to Long Island.
The best part about #GivingTuesday is that you can give in any way that’s meaningful to you. You could give your time as a volunteer, give a shout-out on social media, or give a donation to an organization that our community relies on. Remember, you don’t have to be rich to make a difference, and it doesn’t matter how much you give. The only thing that matters is coming together, GIVING TOGETHER, and making Long Island a friendlier, more generous place.
So, what do you say, are you ready to join in the spirit of giving on Long Island? Please consider making a first-time donation to Long Island Crisis Center or joining us for our special #GivingTuesday open house on December 1. Click here to learn more!
